Background
After a BSc in Computer Science with research in indoor navigation systems for unmanned aircraft, Joseph continued onto an MScRes in Computer Science.
His Master’s research was part of the Heritage Together project; involving digital preservation of cultural heritage sites, crowd-sourcing of data and alternative representations of the preserved sites.
Between his software development work, Joseph also teaches undergraduate and international foundation students as well as undertaking a part-time PhD in Information Visualisation.
Joe’s PhD research involves virtual, augmented and tangible visualisation techniques to represent both “every day” and more “high-level” data collections.
As a STEM ambassador Joseph is involved with the Technocamps outreach project; going to schools and events to get kids interested in programming, technology and other STEM fields.
